Practice Guidelines

Preparing for Practice

Mindfulness Meditation is accessible to people of all backgrounds and beliefs. One need not be a Buddhist to meditate and reap its host of benefits, which include reduced anxiety and stress, improved sleep quality, and enhanced overall happiness.

Our meditation sessions welcome practitioners of all levels, from complete beginners to those with years of experience. The key is approaching practice with an open heart, patience with yourself, and commitment to regular attendance.

During your time at the temple, we emphasize that you shouldn't talk or even look at people, because you are not there to socialize, but to learn and deepen your meditation practice in noble silence.

Essential Guidelines

  • Arrive 10 minutes before sessions begin
  • Wear modest, comfortable clothing
  • Remove shoes before entering meditation hall
  • Maintain noble silence during practice periods
  • Turn off all electronic devices
  • Respect the sacred atmosphere
  • Stay for the complete session duration
  • Avoid strong fragrances or perfumes
  • Bring a water bottle for hydration
  • Practice with patience and compassion
