Phra Ratpariyatmethee,  Abbot of Wat Thaton

Welcome Home Celebration

Phra Ratpariyatmethee, Abbot of Wat Thaton, received a special honor and new title from His Majesty King of Thailand and was welcomed home at a celebration at Wat Thaton's Level 1.

The Abbot arrives with two other Buddhist monks in sedan chairs led by Shan Dancers.

The abbot sits on the frontal sedan chair of the procession followed with two other monks on their individual sedan chairs.

The Ubosatha Hall  in the background is where  new Buddhist monks and novices come to be ordained.

The procession reaches Wat Thaton's level 1 welcomed warmly by Thaton people.

Over 1,000 people, along with the Buddhist monks of the temple, come waiting to congratulate their admirable Abbot for his latest special honor.

A representative from the Royal Thai Government accompanies Phra Ratpariyatmethee, Abbot of Wat Thaton,  with Certificate of New Title.

In a special ceremony in Bangkok on the King's Birthday, Abbot Phra Ratpariyatmethee received an  honor form HRH Crown Prince of Thailand .

Here at Hoah Prachum, three elaborate sedan chairs have been prepared for the procession.
